1Revision history for Perl extension JSON::XS 1Revision history for Perl extension JSON::XS

3TODO: maybe simply use \0 and \1 as true/false when encoding (and overloaded/blessed versions thereof on 3TODO: maybe use some overload magic to decode true and false into something
4 decoding?) 4 not 0 or 1 in perl. or use attached magic?
5TODO: get rid of dynamic arrays to support so-called C compilers
6 by fucking microsoft that do not do C. argl, snprintf is also
7 missing.
5 8
9 - require 5.8.8 explicitly as older perls do not seem to offer
10 the required macros.
11 - possibly made it compile on so-called C compilers by microsoft.
12
131.21 Wed May 9 18:40:32 CEST 2007
14 - character offset reported for trailing garbage is random.
15
161.2 Wed May 9 18:35:01 CEST 2007
17 - decode did not work with magical scalars (doh!).
18 - added latin1 flag to produce JSON texts in the latin1 subset
19 of unicode.
20 - flag trailing garbage as error.
21 - new decode_prefix method that returns the number
22 of characters consumed by a decode.
23 - max octets/char in perls UTF-X is actually 13, not 11,
24 as pointed out by Glenn Linderman.
25 - fixed typoe reported by YAMASHINA Hio.
26
271.11 Mon Apr 9 07:05:49 CEST 2007
28 - properly 0-terminate sv's returned by encode to help
29 C libraries that expect that 0 to be there.
30 - partially "port" JSON from C to microsofts fucking broken
31 pseudo-C. They should be burned to the ground for pissing
32 on standards. And I should be stoned for even trying to
33 support this filthy excuse for a c compiler.
34
351.1 Wed Apr 4 01:45:00 CEST 2007
36 - clarify documentation (pointed out by Quinn Weaver).
37 - decode_utf8 sometimes did not correctly flag errors,
38 leading to segfaults.
39 - further reduced default nesting depth to 512 due to the test
40 failure by that anonymous "chris" whose e-mail address seems
41 to be impossible to get. Tests on other freebsd systems indicate
42 that this is likely a problem in his/her configuration and not this
43 module.
44 - renamed json => JSON in error messages.
45 - corrected the character offset in some error messages.
46
471.01 Sat Mar 31 16:15:40 CEST 2007
48 - do not segfault when from_json/decode gets passed
49 a non-string object (reported by Florian Ragwitz).
50 This has no effect on normal operation.
51
521.0 Thu Mar 29 04:43:34 CEST 2007
53 - the long awaited (by me) 1.0 version.
54 - add \0 (JSON::XS::false) and \1 (JSON::XS::true) mappings to JSON
55 true and false.
56 - add some more notes to shrink, as suggested by Alex Efros.
57 - improve testsuite.
58 - halve the default nesting depth limit, to hopefully make it
59 work on Freebsd (unfortunately, the cpan tester did not
60 send me his report, so I cannot ask about the stack limit on fbsd).
61
620.8 Mon Mar 26 00:10:48 CEST 2007
6 - fix a memleak when decoding hashes. 63 - fix a memleak when decoding hashes.
7 - export jsonToBj and objToJson as aliases 64 - export jsonToBj and objToJson as aliases
8 to to_json and from_json, to reduce incompatibilities 65 to to_json and from_json, to reduce incompatibilities
9 between JSON/JSON::PC and JSON::XS. (experimental). 66 between JSON/JSON::PC and JSON::XS. (experimental).
10 - implement a maximum nesting depth for both en- and de-coding. 67 - implement a maximum nesting depth for both en- and de-coding.
