# Content
1 This contains various directories of presently unused archetypes
2 or pixmaps. Some of the archetypes are here because they are not
3 needed now, but might be useful in future versoins. Others are
4 archetypes that were once used, but no longer. These are here so that
5 if an old map containing these archetypes is used, it will be known
6 what these archetypes did.

8 Directories:
9 Britan,Gloran,Kanji: Contains just bitmaps. Could be useful for
10 future rune code.

12 merged: This contains merged version os archetypes that use
13 several pixmaps to make one large pixmap (ie, a shop is a 2x2
14 pixmap. In the merged directory, it might be stored in 2x2 format).
15 This makes editing of pixmaps of this type easier.

17 old: contains old versions of some archetypes.

19 unused: archetypes and pixmaps that are presently not used.

21 xpm_pref: Contains various colored XPM files. These are files that
22 have been replace by better colored/nicer looking (IMHO) images. But rather
23 than delete thod replaced XPM images, at least keep them around in
24 case someone would rather use them.

26 Files:
27 xpm.template: Contains a template file that has all the 'standard'
28 colors that will be used for the game. All pixmaps should only use
29 these colors.

31 This directory contains all bitmaps and archetypes which are in
32 development phase. Also all unused bitmaps are collected here.
33 These are very mixed series bitmaps and archetypes and hope that
34 this directory (specially obsolete sub-directory) is cleaned
35 before distrubution of new version of crossfire.

37 In obsolete directory contains some bitmaps and archetypes, which
38 has become obsolete. Most these are simple duplicates with existing
39 ones or cause other confilcts.

41 Note that these archetypes and bitmaps are NOT included font, pixmap
42 or archetype files used by game.

44 Since some archetypes have changed, all maps have to be converted
45 (again ;). But this isn't big problem since they have to be converted
46 anyway to get face numbers to strings.
