30 - completely automate the item add/delete on remove/insert. this should fix
31 all "ghost" item bugs caused by sloppy coding, as sloppy coding is now correct :)

34 - reloading archetypes while a user was in the character creation phase

36 - fix a nontrivial number of cases of code commented similar

111 - work around a glibc bug that causes calloc to return non-zero memory

113 - pass environment to perl_sys_init3, as required by newer perls.

115 this greatly increases timing accuracy and gets rid of an enourmous
116 number of gettimeofday calls.
