166.2 159.0
17 - SECURITY FIX: on systems using openpty (not GNU/Linux, probably 16 - implemented perl:selection:remote-pastebin command in perl/selection
18 most BSDs), privileges weren't dropped before opening the pty, 17 - use the scrollback buffer even when the scroll region doesn't
19 resulting in wrong permissions on the pseudo terminal. 18 span the whole screen, as long as it starts at row 0.
20 Reported and fixed by Ryan Beasley. 19 - swap the environment in some more cases. This hopefully fixes
20 some segfaults that might be caused by xft asking for env variables
21 at the wrong time.
22 - selection popup now shows selection in dec/hex/oct.
23 - perl/selection: matching on unicode characters in the selection
24 code was O(n²), which equals infinity in some degenerate cases
25 :-> Matching is now done on UTF-8, which makes it almost instant.
26 - perl/selection, perl/selection-autotransform: regexes are now
27 being interpreted in the locale urxvt was started.
28 - perl-overlays and refresh hooks were not applied in correct order.
29 - changed coordinate-system of view_start/nsaved to be top to bottom.
30 - complete overhaul of the pty/utmp management stuff and configure
31 (Emanuele Giaquinta).
32 - removed src/strings.C and src/menubar.C. No menubar support
33 anymore.
34 - add tsl/fsl and related capabilities to the terminfo description,
35 to set the window title.
36 - nuked QNX support.
37
387.0 Fri Jan 13 14:02:18 CET 2006
39 - added sections for DISTRIBUTION MAINTAINERS and about
40 SETUID/SETGID to the FAQ.
41 - selection, searchable-scrollback, selection-popup and
42 option-popup extensions enabled by default.
43 - increased xft drawing speed for problematic fonts. The effect
44 will likely be small as 99% of the xft slowness is server-related.
45 - perl: much increased functionality, better overlays, popup support
46 and much much more.
47 - perl: urxvt::line now can set via ->t and ->r.
48 - perl: changed interpretation of --perl-ext-common and -pe.
49 - perl: finally implemented --perl-eval.
50 - perl: non-blocking anyevent support.
51 - perl: run tainted and ignore perl-eval/perl-lib if started
52 setuid/setgid.
53 - free the resource database: this plugs a massive memory leak. As a
54 side effect, it also gets rid of XGetDefault calls.
55 - free one of the cursors, fixes a small memory leak.
56 - built-in (as opposed to terminfos) visual bell was broken/too fast.
57 - applied minor cleanups by Ladislav Michnovic.
58 - applied pty handling cleanups and improvements (Emanuele Giaquinta).
59 - mark-urls launch-on-click by jepler.
60 - removed "small" resource parsing function, as it wasn't really
61 compatible, and not really small either.
62 - removed PATH_ENV and PATH file search support.
63 - removed support for locale-specific app-defaults file.
64 - fixed a bug where out-of-bounds colour sequences could lead
65 to crashes.
66 - limit colour changing to the standard 88 palette instead of all
67 colours.
68 - XTerm_Color01 sequence returned wrong results in query mode.
69 - iom.C now checks against destructed io_manager when unregistering.

716.3 Wed Jan 4 22:37:10 CET 2006
72 - SECURITY FIX: on systems using openpty, permissions were
73 not correctly updated on the tty device and were left as
74 world-readable and world-writable (likely in original rxvt,
75 too), and were not restored properly. Affected are only
76 systems where non-unix ptys were used (such as most BSDs, not
77 GNU/Linux). (found, patched and debugged by Ryan Beasley).
78 - meta8 support was forcefully enabled in most configurations.
79 restored configurability of this (useless) feature (reported
80 by Mikachu).
81 - optionally embed a perl interpreter, which can be used for more
82 intelligent/customized selection support, visual feedback,
83 menus, tabs etc. See the the urxvtperl manpage, the -pe option,
84 perl*-resources and keysym resources. Not everything is there yet.
85 - try to be more clever about differing font sizes and their ascent.
86 Not guarenteed to work, but works better in most cases now.
87 - fix directory permissions on install.
88 - implemented option to disable built-in line drawing characters
89 and fall back to the font ones (patch by Martin Pohlack).
90 - disabled sched_yield support: the linux version is just too useless
91 (it schedules nice'd processes before the own one for extended
92 periods). Too bad, it could reduce system time by a factor of 5 here.
