15 - implement some useful (hopefully) options for rxvtd.
16 - seperate and improved rxvtc(1) and rxvtd(1) manpages.
17
185.6 Sun Jun 26 22:11:13 CEST 2005
19 - R_SB_RXVT bitset value was 0, so rxvt scrollbar was initialised
20 every time resulting in display errors (original rxvt also affected).
21 Reported by Jasmin Buchert.
22 - font names are now considered to be utf-8 encoded (xft apperently
23 uses this convention. X Core fonts might not, but it should be rare).
24 Affects display in iso14755 box.
25 - rewrote the low-level xft drawing function ("xft backend" for the
26 hipper parts of the world) to hopefully cope better with proportional
27 chars mixed with fixed-width ones.
28 - rxvt is now much more careful (read: slower) with potentially
29 overlapping xft characters. It usually overshoots and redraws
30 more than required, but that's better than undershooting and
31 cutting pieces off of characters.
32 - rxvt is now more restrictive in what font heights it accepts for
33 fonts that will likely overshoot or undershoot lines.
34 - fix a cosmetic problem with the unfocused cursor on a wide character
35 at the end of the line (reported by Mikachu).
36 - wide characters not fitting into the end of the line will be
37 output in the next line (reported by Mikachu).
38 - added doc/solaris9.patch by Ewgenij Starostin.
39
405.5 Sat Apr 23 22:31:36 CEST 2005
41 - re-enabled modifer state matching as in 5.3, but implement
42 a new builtin: keysym style that simply reverts to the built-in
43 meaning of the given key.
44 - use scrollcolor for next scrollbar instead of hardcoded antiquewhite
45 (patch by Martin Edlman).
46
475.4 Mon Apr 18 00:33:31 CEST 2005
48 - match modifier state exactly in custom keyboard code.
49 this is necessary because it has no knowledge about
50 built-in mappings and so will overwrite them. the priority-code
51 will be re-enabled when this has changed, so watch out.
52 - cursor blinking now depends on frills.
53 - underline cursor mode (frills, -uc).
54 - implement special value (*g*) for pointerBlankDelay
55 to disble it.
56
575.3 Sun Mar 13 00:20:44 CET 2005
58 - fix a bug that allowed to overflow a buffer via a long
59 escape sequence, which is probably exploitable (fix by
60 Rob Holland / Yoann Vandoorselaere / Gentoo Audit Team).
61 - Custom key mappings no longer confuse mouse buttons
62 with modifiers.
63 - use XmbSetWMProperties instead of XSetWMProperties.
64 - properly update WM_LOCALE.
65 - implement _NET_WM_PING protocol.
66 - implemented escape sequences to move the scrollback buffer view
67 and clear the scrollback buffer.
68
695.2 Sun Feb 20 01:48:59 CET 2005
70 - new option -pty-fd that makes the terminal a slave
71 that uses an existing pty for I/O instead of starting
72 a command.
73 - implement enough of XEMBED to allow for correct focus.
74 - added doc/embed-tk, an embedding example in Perl/Tk,
75 and doc/rxvt-tabbed, a primitive tabbed shell implemented
76 in Perl/Gtk2.
77 - fix assertion failure ("crash") on mousewheel-scrolling
78 when the terminal height is small, by removing the assert.
79 (reported by Mikael Magnusson).
80 - SYNCCVS. backported bugfixes done to rxvt
81 (sourceforge bugs #1028739, #1028732), except for
82 pts/%s fix as it seems to collide with freebsd,
83 and sourceforge bug #954654, which is not neccessary.
84 - change terminfo file to not clobber G1 when using
85 line-drawing characters, as this seems to mess
86 with EUC-JP (it will clobber G0, but G0 practically
87 needs to be US-ASCII all the time).
88 - toggle default application keypad/cursor mode to help
89 some apps who fail to set the correct mode.
90 - check for WM_PROTOCOLS type in ClientMessage as to
91 not destroy the window for other types of messages.
92 - remove shared library (or any library) support - it is
93 of no use currently (and -embed is a better way to embed
94 rxvt-unicode).
95 - get rid of the intpro files.
96
975.1 Tue Feb 15 17:13:27 CET 2005
98 - fix a bug when parsing fontnames and another one
99 for empty keymaps which could result in crashes
100 (Kuang-che Wu).
101 - new option: -embed (frills). somebody could write a simple
102 tk script to make a tab'able terminal now...
103 - only warn on X errors and _try_ to continue (frills).
104 - add COPYING back, which got lost somehow.
105 - after deciding that LSM is dead, remove all traces of it,
106 along with other, similar, cleanups.
107 - _try_ to react sensibly to some non-monotonic time changes.
108 - don't crash in urxvtc when getcwd fails (reported by Paco-Paco).
109 - tweak font searching algorithm a bit to be faster and more
110 compatible with older rxvt-unicode versions when multiple fonts
111 match (reported by Paco-Paco).
112 - urxvtd tries to stay in "/" whenever possible.
113
1145.0 Fri Feb 11 18:31:48 CET 2005
115 - document a race-free hack to start urxvtd.
116 - document all(?) environment variables used and set by rxvt.
117 - bring xgetdefault-style resource file ordering more in line with
118 Xt, and document it in rxvt(1).
119 - correctly use screen-dependent resources when --enable-xgetdefault,
120 and also fix some memory bugs (thanks to Thierry Reding for
121 his patience and time in tracking this down).
122 - bring own resource parsing more in line with X resource parsing,
123 most notably, don't remove double quotes.
124 - compile fix for freebsd (no ut_id) (Thierry Thomas).
125 - clean up utmp and pty on X I/O errors and signals (idea
126 by Joël Riou).
127 - "un"document -xrm, it never really worked, was only
128 available with --enable-xgetdefault, is not necessary
129 and is surprisingly hard to implement.
130 - shaved off some code segment size.
131 - various code cleanups.
132 - more keysym-mapping fixes.
133
1344.9 Thu Feb 3 09:52:03 CET 2005
135 - nuke out utmp entries completely. Should be fixed in
136 original rxvt, too. (reported by James Michael Fultz).
137 - resizes wil now correctly refresh the displayed text when
138 -pixmap is active.
139 - new option/resource imFont.
140 - document --tripleclickwords/-tcw.
141 - select logical instead of physical lines when doing a triple-click.
142 - reordered help listing to group similar options together.
143 - handle SIGINT the same way as SIGTERM (reported by Joël Riou).
144 - fix a bug introduced while applying the keyboard patch
145 (WU Fengguang).
146 - document all window-op sequences (rxvt.7.) and more keysym
147 examples (rxvt.1).
148 - removed src/test completely.
149 - renamed keysym 'proto:'-prefix to 'command:'.
150
1514.8 Tue Jan 18 02:23:57 CET 2005
152 - added a patch by WU Fengguang that makes the keyboard
153 highly configurable (e.g. locale changes, custom escape
154 sequences, and more). See keysym resource in rxvt(1).
155 - remove default key sequence for unknown keys again, as this
156 can be achieved by customizing the keyboard now.
157 - fix some freeing problems when destroying the rxvt_display,
158 resulting in segfaults.
159 - don't crash when the saved cursor position doesn't fit on the
160 screen (wrong assert in original rxvt, reported by ikaro).
161 - fix signed/unsigned bugs on wc<->mb conversions.
162 - reset slipwheel scrolling speed when reaching the top or bottom
163 (Mikael Magnusson).
164 - for core fonts, use ascent + descent when a font is loaded,
165 and PIXEL_SIZE when not. when loading a font, iterate until a
166 font has been found that _really_ fits the height (reported and
167 tested by Olivier Wittenberg).
168 - set IUTF8 input flag, when defined (linux-2.6.5+).
169 - only define _XOPEN_SOURCE on solaris.
170 - autogenerate src/* dependency list.
171 - fixed linespace option, which ought to work now (and is dependent
172 on frills, not on it's own configure option).
173 - include pty.h, if available (cygwin).
174 - removed W11 directory from dist, it wasn't used anyway.
175 - initialize the locale much earlier.
176 - fixed two tiny per-instance memory leaks.
177
1784.7 Wed Dec 29 20:54:24 CET 2004
179 - fix a bug in the event logic that could cause the temrinal to be
180 black on initial startup.
181 - do NOT call XCloseIM, ever. This causes way to many crashes due to
182 races in the protocol and within Xlib.
183 - map iso-left-tab to the same sequence as shift-tab.
184 - generate a unique escape sequence for many unknown keys, such as
185 additional multimedia keys.
186 - mask out high (non-unicode) bits on wide characters, to cope with
187 implementations that store tag info in the high bits.
188
