176 - INCOMPATIBLE CHANGE: this version will always read ~/.Xdefaults,
177 earlier versions only read it if display-resources (usually from
178 .Xresources) are not set. This avoids the #1 FAQ ("why isn't my
179 resource used") and seems to be logical behaviour, too. .Xdefaults
180 resources have a lower priority than display-specific resources.
181 - add "kuake" perl extension that does a similar thing to the kuake
182 terminal emulator (see man urxtvperl).
183 - use less "correct" color scaling that is compatible with libX11 and
184 Xft (avoids off-by-one colors resulting in striped backgrounds).
185 - the "depth" resource is now respected.
186 - preset the searchable-scrollback pattern with "(?i)" to default search
187 to case-insensitivity. Will automatically be cleared when typing an

217 - use double-buffered drawing (xft fonts only). On many driver/hardware
218 combination this actually increases xft drawing speed, at the expense
219 of more network bandwidth and slight nausea on the side of the author.
220 - readline perl extension now requires shift-click instead of a normal
221 click, and eats the click.
222 - tabbed perl extension now supports -e.
223 - disabled graphics-exposures on the main drawing GC, report any
224 refresh bugs please.
225 - improve property handling for -pe tabbed: avoid unnecessary property
226 changes (for kde's benefit) at the expense of extra round-trips,
227 improve size hint setting.
228 - modified XIM according to a patch sent by Takano Akio that sets
229 the preedit rectangle for OverTheSpot, which helps some input methods

231 - un-optimise the line clearing on newly scrolled-in lines a bit: the
232 former reasoning was that any fg colour on default bg looks the same
233 in empty spaces, but thats not true when reversing (e.g. selection),

236 - fix a bug in the perl interface causing focus in events to generate

376 - setuid/setgid operation is now _encouraged_: security has been
377 improved by moving privileged operations into a separate process
378 and permanently dropping privileges within the terminal. This
379 makes it possible to remove security checks from the perl code
380 and gives a much safer feeling when urxvt needs to run with
381 special privileges.
382 - perl taint checking disabled, as urxvt no longer runs setuid/setgid
383 itself.
384 - new perl extension automove-background that can be used to get
385 the same effect as pseudo-transparency with any pixmap.

451 - SECURITY FIX: on systems using openpty, permissions were
452 not correctly updated on the tty device and were left as
453 world-readable and world-writable (likely in original rxvt,
454 too), and were not restored properly. Affected are only
455 systems where non-unix ptys were used (such as most BSDs, not
456 GNU/Linux). (found, patched and debugged by Ryan Beasley).
457 - meta8 support was forcefully enabled in most configurations.
458 restored configurability of this (useless) feature (reported

460 - optionally embed a perl interpreter, which can be used for more
