143 - INCOMPATIBLE CHANGE: this version will always read ~/.Xdefaults,
144 earlier versions only read it if display-resources (usually from
145 .Xresources) are not set. This avoids the #1 FAQ ("why isn't my
146 resource used") and seems to be logical behaviour, too. .Xdefaults
147 resources have a lower priority than display-specific resources.
148 - add "kuake" perl extension that does a similar thing to the kuake
149 terminal emulator (see man urxtvperl).
150 - use less "correct" color scaling that is compatible with libX11 and
151 Xft (avoids off-by-one colors resulting in striped backgrounds).
152 - the "depth" resource is now respected.

190 - disabled graphics-exposures on the main drawing GC, report any

343 - setuid/setgid operation is now _encouraged_: security has been
344 improved by moving privileged operations into a separate process
345 and permanently dropping privileges within the terminal. This
346 makes it possible to remove security checks from the perl code
347 and gives a much safer feeling when urxvt needs to run with
348 special privileges.
349 - perl taint checking disabled, as urxvt no longer runs setuid/setgid

351 - new perl extension automove-background that can be used to get
352 the same effect as pseudo-transparency with any pixmap.

419 not correctly updated on the tty device and were left as
420 world-readable and world-writable (likely in original rxvt,
421 too), and were not restored properly. Affected are only
422 systems where non-unix ptys were used (such as most BSDs, not
423 GNU/Linux). (found, patched and debugged by Ryan Beasley).
424 - meta8 support was forcefully enabled in most configurations.
425 restored configurability of this (useless) feature (reported
426 by Mikachu).
427 - optionally embed a perl interpreter, which can be used for more
428 intelligent/customized selection support, visual feedback,
429 menus, tabs etc. See the the urxvtperl manpage, the -pe option,
