17 - SECURITY FIX: on systems using openpty (not GNU/Linux, probably 21 - bugfix: urxvt (not urxvtd) did not correctly handle multiple
18 most BSDs), privileges weren't dropped before opening the pty, 22 environments necessary, which resulted in segfaults within
19 resulting in wrong permissions on the pseudo terminal. 23 getenv (reproducable: urxvt -fn 9x15, open a menu once,

49 - setuid/setgid operation is now _encouraged_: security has been
50 improved by moving privileged operations into a separate process
51 and permanently dropping privileges within the terminal. This
52 makes it possible to remove security checks from the perl code
53 and gives a much safer feeling when urxvt needs to run with
54 special privileges.
55 - perl taint checking disabled, as urxvt no longer runs setuid/setgid
56 itself.
57 - new perl extension automove-background that can be used to get
58 the same effect as pseudo-transparency with any pixmap.
59 - new perl extension example: perl/selection-pastebin, can be used to

126 world-readable and world-writable (likely in original rxvt,
127 too), and were not restored properly. Affected are only
128 systems where non-unix ptys were used (such as most BSDs, not
129 GNU/Linux). (found, patched and debugged by Ryan Beasley).
