140 - setuid/setgid operation is now _encouraged_: security has been
141 improved by moving privileged operations into a separate process
142 and permanently dropping privileges within the terminal. This
143 makes it possible to remove security checks from the perl code
144 and gives a much safer feeling when urxvt needs to run with

146 - perl taint checking disabled, as urxvt no longer runs setuid/setgid

218 too), and were not restored properly. Affected are only
219 systems where non-unix ptys were used (such as most BSDs, not
220 GNU/Linux). (found, patched and debugged by Ryan Beasley).
221 - meta8 support was forcefully enabled in most configurations.
222 restored configurability of this (useless) feature (reported

224 - optionally embed a perl interpreter, which can be used for more
