31 - INCOMPATIBLE CHANGE: this version will always read ~/.Xdefaults,
32 earlier versions only read it if display-resources (usually from
33 .Xresources) are not set. This avoids the #1 FAQ ("why isn't my
34 resource used") and seems to be logical behaviour, too. .Xdefaults
35 resources have a lower priority than display-specific resources.
36 - add "kuake" perl extension that does a similar thing to the kuake
37 terminal emulator (see man urxtvperl).
38 - use less "correct" color scaling that is compatible with libX11 and
39 Xft (avoids off-by-one colors resulting in striped backgrounds).
40 - the "depth" resource is now respected.
41 - preset the searchable-scrollback pattern with "(?i)" to default search
42 to case-insensitivity. Will automatically be cleared when typing an

72 - use double-buffered drawing (xft fonts only). On many driver/hardware
73 combination this actually increases xft drawing speed, at the expense
74 of more network bandwidth and slight nausea on the side of the author.
75 - readline perl extension now requires shift-click instead of a normal
76 click, and eats the click.
77 - tabbed perl extension now supports -e.
78 - disabled graphics-exposures on the main drawing GC, report any
79 refresh bugs please.
80 - improve property handling for -pe tabbed: avoid unnecessary property
81 changes (for kde's benefit) at the expense of extra round-trips,
82 improve size hint setting.
83 - modified XIM according to a patch sent by Takano Akio that sets
84 the preedit rectangle for OverTheSpot, which helps some input methods
85 to correctly position their preedit window.
86 - un-optimise the line clearing on newly scrolled-in lines a bit: the

231 - setuid/setgid operation is now _encouraged_: security has been
232 improved by moving privileged operations into a separate process
233 and permanently dropping privileges within the terminal. This
234 makes it possible to remove security checks from the perl code
235 and gives a much safer feeling when urxvt needs to run with
236 special privileges.
237 - perl taint checking disabled, as urxvt no longer runs setuid/setgid
238 itself.
239 - new perl extension automove-background that can be used to get
240 the same effect as pseudo-transparency with any pixmap.
241 - new perl extension example: perl/selection-pastebin, can be used to

310 systems where non-unix ptys were used (such as most BSDs, not
311 GNU/Linux). (found, patched and debugged by Ryan Beasley).
312 - meta8 support was forcefully enabled in most configurations.
313 restored configurability of this (useless) feature (reported

421 - font names are now considered to be utf-8 encoded (xft apperently
422 uses this convention. X Core fonts might not, but it should be rare).

424 - rewrote the low-level xft drawing function ("xft backend" for the
425 hipper parts of the world) to hopefully cope better with proportional
426 chars mixed with fixed-width ones.
427 - rxvt is now much more careful (read: slower) with potentially

429 more than required, but that's better than undershooting and
