243 - INCOMPATIBLE CHANGE: this version will always read ~/.Xdefaults,
244 earlier versions only read it if display-resources (usually from
245 .Xresources) are not set. This avoids the #1 FAQ ("why isn't my
246 resource used") and seems to be logical behaviour, too. .Xdefaults
247 resources have a lower priority than display-specific resources.
248 - add "kuake" perl extension that does a similar thing to the kuake
249 terminal emulator (see man urxtvperl).
250 - use less "correct" color scaling that is compatible with libX11 and
251 Xft (avoids off-by-one colors resulting in striped backgrounds).
252 - the "depth" resource is now respected.
253 - preset the searchable-scrollback pattern with "(?i)" to default search
254 to case-insensitivity. Will automatically be cleared when typing an

284 - use double-buffered drawing (xft fonts only). On many driver/hardware
285 combination this actually increases xft drawing speed, at the expense
286 of more network bandwidth and slight nausea on the side of the author.
287 - readline perl extension now requires shift-click instead of a normal
288 click, and eats the click.
289 - tabbed perl extension now supports -e.
290 - disabled graphics-exposures on the main drawing GC, report any
291 refresh bugs please.
292 - improve property handling for -pe tabbed: avoid unnecessary property
293 changes (for kde's benefit) at the expense of extra round-trips,

295 - modified XIM according to a patch sent by Takano Akio that sets
296 the preedit rectangle for OverTheSpot, which helps some input methods

298 - un-optimise the line clearing on newly scrolled-in lines a bit: the

303 - fix a bug in the perl interface causing focus in events to generate

306 - fix a with --disable-xft that caused xfreecolors to be called on
307 colors never allocated, resulting in aborts (reported by Paco-Paco).

443 - setuid/setgid operation is now _encouraged_: security has been
444 improved by moving privileged operations into a separate process
445 and permanently dropping privileges within the terminal. This
446 makes it possible to remove security checks from the perl code
447 and gives a much safer feeling when urxvt needs to run with
448 special privileges.
449 - perl taint checking disabled, as urxvt no longer runs setuid/setgid
450 itself.
451 - new perl extension automove-background that can be used to get
452 the same effect as pseudo-transparency with any pixmap.
