=head1 Home =head2 About Ermyth Ermyth IRC Services provides the IRC Services implementation for our infrastructure. In addition, services supports many other IRC implementations as well. Ermyth is an experimental branch of L. This project does not aim to compete with Atheme. Ermyth rather cooperates and exchanges with Atheme. Useful and stable features are ported to and from each project. It allows users to manage their channels in a secure and efficient way and allows operators to manage various things about their networks. Ermyth has been ported to C++ and goes its way using modern concepts and the object oriented paradigm. Rather than concentrating purely on design and features, the Ermyth team tries to do this at high speed. Another goal is to make the use of non-IRC transports easier. To achieve this, an internal data representation has to be passed around until right before the frontend provides the data to the user. The IRC frontend will provide the information exactly the way people would expect in IRC. The JSON-RPC and XML-RPC frontends, however, will provide the information in JSON and XML formats respectively, so clients to such transports will more easily parse the output.
